Children's Ministry

We love kids. We try to offer both specialized ministries and events for children, but we also try to include kids in as many cross-generational activities as possible.

Sunday Community Worship offers nursery care during the entire service and a Children's Sunday School program during the sermon only. We find that most kids enjoy being a part of the music portions of the service. We also want parents to know their children are always welcome during all of our services.

We also have a mid-week (Wed) Kid's Club. Contact us for more information.

Various family activities are offered during the year such as hikes, zoo lights trips, etc. Often as much as 50% of our Prayer/Share/Study service on Wed evenings is made up of children and teens and yes, they do enjoy it and yes, they do participate. We love including kids in our community and do not believe a child has to wait until they are an adult to serve Christ.

Counseling Ministry

Pastor Doug offers spiritual counseling and short-term marriage and parenting counsel. He also offers leadership mentoring. Pastor Doug has a BA in religion from Northwest Nazarene University, a Master of Divinity from Asbury Seminary, a Certificate of Leadership from the Beeson Institute for Advanced Church Leadership, and completed his coursework for his DMin in Leadership from Asbury Seminary. (He did not complete his dissertation due to a massive accident in Africa that led to a long, slow recovery.) Father to eight and married for more than 20 years, Pastor Doug enjoys family counseling and offers this free short-term service at our Bijou Administrative Center offices.
Pastor Debbie is trained in psychology and leads our music. She offers help with women's issues, marriages, and family. She attended Asbury College and Asbury Seminary and is employed full-time in the Creative Services branch of Young Life.
Our youth participate in many activities throughout the year including concerts, camping trips, etc. We try to keep most youth events free or nearly free so that all can participate.

We use youth in many ministry roles within the church and they often assist adult leaders in children's ministries and in other ministry areas.

Prayer Ministry

The backbone of Restoring Hope is our Prayer/Share/Study service on Wednesday  evenings at 7 PM.  We use this time to pray for community needs, encourage one another, share one another's victories and struggles, and study God's word.

We also have several people who meet in small groups for prayer--these groups normally involve a small number of people and usually meet in local homes.

Food Pantry

We offer a food pantry to provide assistance.  Please contact us for more details of how to donate or receive assistance.

Men's and Women's Ministries

At various time of the year we offer special events such as a parenting classes as well as men's and women's Bible studies that meet regularly. Please see our current Schedule or Events Calendar for more information.

We use the Hope Fund as well as designated missions offerings to support missionaries and mission projects throughout the year.  We encourage our membership to be active in supporting and praying for missionaries and missions organizations.  One of our favorite sites for missions information is
